9-Stroke Deficit? No Problem
Kupcho makes up 10 shots on 3rd-round leader to win CGA Stroke Play
At this point, we should learn to expect the unexpected in the final round of the CGA Stroke Play Championship.
Steven Kupcho went into the final round nine strokes behind and in 16th place. Not even he thought he had a chance to win. In fact, it didn't even enter his mind, even at the end of Sunday's stellar round. But Kupcho learned a very pleasant lesson as he put together one of the biggest final-round rallies ever by a winner of the Stroke Play Championship, overcoming that nine-stroke deficit.... | Description: Championship format: 72 holes of stroke play. A 36 hole cut will be made to the low 40 players and ties for the final two rounds. All play is at scratch. Field Size: 84 Players Walking Only Event: The 2012 CGA Stroke Play Championship will be a walking only event! Caddies are allowed in all stages of the event. Automotive transportation will only be allowed in qualifying rounds. |
