Q: When I try to post my Arizona scores online, the Arizona courses are not available. Why is this, and how do I post these scores?
A: The reason Arizona courses do not appear in the course selector is because Arizona does not use the GHIN Handicap System. You can, however, still post these scores online. You will need to enter the information manually. To do this, first find the course rating and slope of the tees you played. If you don't have these handy, they can be found at www.ghin.com or CLICK HERE to go directly to the National Course Rating Database. When you post your score, find and select the "manual" button in the score posting window. This allows you to manually enter the course name and rating information. Q: I just reactivated my membership and GHIN number at my home club. I have a full score history from the previous year yet my Handicap Index is reading “NH”. Why?
A: The “NH” stands for No Handicap. Do not be alarmed as this is an automatic function of the system when reactivating a GHIN number. Once you are reactivated, you must experience a Handicap Revision or “update”. Once you go through a revision with your active GHIN number, your index will re-populate. During our active season, revisions occur the 1st and 15th of every month.
A USGA Handicap Index is calculated in a way to reflect a golfer's POTENTIAL ability. It is not the average of all your scores. A golfer is expected to play to his/her Course Handicap only about 25 PERCENT of the time. What do you want to know about a handicap?
